Common questions
Do I need an account?
No. There is nothing to sign up for. Open the app, answer a few questions about your house and you are tracking.
How does the backup work?
Through your own iCloud account. If you are signed in to iCloud, your homes, tasks and photos sync to your private CloudKit database — that is what restores them onto a new iPhone. If iCloud is off, the app works exactly the same, on-device, and tells you backup is disabled.
I moved. Can I start over?
Add the new place as a home, then delete the old one when you have handed over the keys. You can also export the whole record to CSV first — Activity, then Export record — so it survives outside the app.
The suggested interval is wrong for my house.
Change it. Every interval in the library is a starting point — open the task, tap edit, and set it in days, weeks, months or years, and move the next due date if it has drifted. The clock always resets from the day you mark something done, not from the day it was scheduled.
I manage rentals. Can I keep them separate?
Yes — that is what multiple homes are for. Each property keeps its own list, reminders and history, notifications name the property, and the widget can show one property or all of them at once.
My reminders are not arriving.
Check Settings › Notifications › Housewright and make sure notifications are allowed, then check whether a Focus mode is filtering them. Reminders are scheduled locally at your chosen time (9:00 AM by default), so a device that has been off will deliver them when it wakes.
Will the photos eat my iCloud storage?
Photos are compressed before they sync, and the app only stores the ones you attach to a completed task. You can also skip photos entirely — a note is often enough.
Is there an Android or web version?
No, and none is planned. Housewright is built directly on iOS and iCloud, which is what lets it work with no account and no servers.
